The defrost damper is stuck in the closed position or is not opening properly.

Possible causes

Excessive ice blocking the damper
Failed damper solenoid motor
Bent or broken linkage

Recommended actions

Manually defrost the damper area
Inspect linkages and brackets
Test opening solenoid directly
